KY Trip...

Glen surprised us with a trip to Kentucky this past week. He had a buisness meeting there and his boss was sweet enough to allow us to travel with him so we could spend some time with Nana V (Glen's Mama). When we arrived on Monday night, we head straight for the Old Spaghetti Factory!!!!

The children were THRILLED to eat inside the Trolly Car!!!

Tuesday morning, Glen headed out for two days of meetings and the kiddos and I enjoyed Nana V!!! She is so sweet...She brought the kiddos some school supplies and they had a blast looking at each item.

Nana V took us to the mall for some shopping and of course some fun activities!!! Azaryah got to ride the cow ;-)

After a day of shopping and some yummy Japanese food, the children enjoyed swimming. We also had the blessing of having Aunt Gerri join us later in the day. That was fun to see her!!!

Needless to say, we were all EXHAUSTED at the end of the day but we were all so thankful for a great day!!!

KY Trip...Nana BJ and Pawpaw

Glen's meetings ended late Wednesday afternoon so we headed to Lexington, KY to see my parents for a couple of hours. We enjoyed pizza and ice cream and some quality time with them. The kiddos always love hanging out with them!!! We won't see them again until Christmas unless we can convince them to head this way for some family camping in October!!!

KY Trip...Walk Across the 2nd Street Bridge

Thursday morning, Glen took the children and I for a walk across the 2nd Street Bridge. We were staying in a hotel right by the river on the Indiana side so our journey started there...It was a gorgeous morning!!! That is downtown Louisville and the Mighty Ohil River..

Three of our babies enjoying seeing new sights and learning more about where Daddy grew up and where he and I lived for 10 years before we were tranferred...

A closer view of Louisville...I used to work in that tall building and Glen worked right across the river in Indiana.

The Locks...Glen explained how the locks work, how they were built, and why they are imporant...Of course, we homeschoolers have to make a lesson out of everything!!! heehee

Me and my babies!!!

KY Trip...Nana V

Glen has a precious Mama!!! I have been blessed to have a wonderful mother-in-law...She loves spending time with us and we love spending time with her.

She spoils the children...Look at the size of those ice cream treats!!! Can you say SUGAR RUSH!?!?! heehee

On Thursday night, we all drove to Erlanger, KY so we could get up and head to the Creation Museum early Friday morning. Of course, we had to have a Family Slumber Party before turning the lights out and getting some rest. Nana V, Azaryah, and Keziah climbed in one bed...

Glen, Eden, Corbyn, and I snuggled up in the other...What was the show?!?! A Dick Van Dyke episode, of course ;-)

Night Night!!!

KY Trip...Creation Museum

While we were in Kentucky this past week, we were blessed with the opportunity to return to the Creation Museum. This was the third trip for the children and I, the second trip for Vilma, and the first trip for Glen. It really is a wonderful museum dedicated to the presentation of God's Word through creation. If we lived closer, we would go at least once a month!!! Each month, they offer different speakers, events, and activities for the entire family!!!!

Small Group

Glen and I have been blessed to have a wonderful small group. Our small group is desinged to enable all of us to walk alongside one another, encourage and pray for one another, and hold one another accountable to God's Word as we each strive to be more like Christ. Our small group meets twice a month for some good food, fellowship, and sharing of how God is working in our lives.

Rob and Kimberly Brown, Pastor Mike and Karen Summers, Glen and Michelle Jones, Dave and Beth Layman, Kevin and Cahrrie Corprew, Shayne and Carol Salisbury
(Robert and Susan House are also a part of our group; however, they are out of town.)

We always leave feeling so refreshed!! There is nothing quite like being surrounded by a godly group of men and women who know all about you and STILL LOVE YOU ;-)

Home School Supplies...

Every year, Nana BJ and Pawpaw send the kiddos some money so they can buy school supplies. It is such a blessing to us and it is a thrill for the children!!

So many choices...

Finding just the right box of crayons can be challenging!!

The right Math notebook is rewarding...

I am not sure how long we were in Walmart looking at the school supplies and getting exactly what we needed, but we all laughed and had a great time!!!

Home School Supplies...#2...The PlayDough Isle

No classroom is complete without brand new play dough in every color!!! The kiddos spent more time in this isle then they did picking out ALL the other supplies!!!

Still looking...

Still looking...

Still looking...

Azaryah finally got tired of looking at Playdough and drifted over into the dinasaur section!!! lol

Home School Supplies...#3

Grandma Sharon was on hand to see all the goodies!!! The kiddos had to show her every item and Grandma Sharon rejoiced over every piece!!!

Grandma Sharon is a precious gift to our family and we all love her very much!!!

All the items from yesterday's shopping trip...What a huge blessing!!! Thanks Mama and Daddy!!! NOW...Where to put it all ;-)
